Ofgem reveals FIT statistics

Energy regulator Ofgem has published data showing the uptake of electricty-generating renewables since the introduction of Feed-in Tariffs earlier this year. The report shows that a total of 4,716 installations have taken place since 1st April, the vast majority of these being PV (4,564). In addition, there has been 139 wind turbine and 13 hydropower installations. There have been no anerobic digestion (AD) or microCHP installations as yet under the scheme.

Most of the PV installations (4,429) have been in the residential market, with a handful of commercial and community installations adding to the total of 11.26MW capacity. Similarly, the wind installations have mainly been in the domestic sector (106), with 28 commercial installations and four community projects.
