Following on from a successful trial in 2010, Great Places Housing Group has announced that future rewires and new builds will have the VPhase voltage optimisation system specified in. Great Places is a housing association that provides over 15,000 high-quality homes in 30 council areas across the North West and beyond.

The 2010 trial demonstrated average electrical energy savings of 8.7% and average annual carbon savings of 183kg. In the terraced houses in which the device was trialled, this was an estimated 3.6% reduction in the average whole house carbon emissions. At the time of the trial, Matthew Harrison, deputy chief executive and director of development at Great Places Housing Group, commented: “These results are very encouraging and we will now look at the viability of installing VPhase units in more of our houses.”
