Architect Bill Dunster OBE will give the opening address at next week's Greenbuild Expo in Manchester. He will be speaking on affordable sustainability, which is a key theme of the event.

Dunster is a world-renowned architect specialising in zero energy developments, founder of ZEDfactory (located in BedZED, Britain's largest mixed-use sustainable community, in Beddington) and a partner in StramitZED (an affordable and sustainable zero-carbon housing system). The award-winning architect has received the RIBA sustainabilty award and the UK-GBC prize for sustainable development of the year for projects under £2m in 2009 for the RuralZed development in Northampton. He is also co-writer of the ZEDbook, a manual for achieving zero-carbon development at different densities and scales. He brings his vast knowledge in the field of zero-carbon development to Greenbuild Expo 2011.

Hear his views on the industry, what we should be aiming for and how to achieve it on Wednesday 29th June at 9.40am in the central arena. Free registration is at www.greenbuildexpo.co.uk.
