UK businesses looking to expand in a fast-growing low carbon overseas market are being offered a visit to India as part of a partnership between the University of Salford and the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC).

Supported by UK Trade and Investment North West, the week-long trip, which takes place from 27th October to 3rd November, is intended as a networking opportunity in a country with rapidly growing construction, low carbon and energy markets. India is the second fastest growing economy, after China.

The Indian market for low-carbon technology is predicted to be worth £135bn by 2020. Green buildings are steadily becoming more common with an increase from 64,500 sq. ft of green space in 2003 to 855.96m sq. ft currently, according to the IGBC.

Split between Hyderabad and Chennai, the visit will include attending the IGBC annual conference. Funding towards the cost of the trip is available for eligible businesses.
