Low energy lighting will be fitted in 600 New Look stores nationwide. Rexel UK plans to upgrade halogen lighting to LEDs to lower maintenance costs for the retailer.
The longer-life products means that New Look will need to replace fittings less frequently with the added benefit of using less air conditioning because of reduced heat from light sources.
Initial outlay will be £650,000 with project payback estimated at just 15 months.
A bespoke asset audit at every store will establish the best approach to save energy and reduce energy. Tailoring its approach prior to work beginning will mean that Rexel can get the right products to site and reduce carbon emissions from transport.
Brian Smithers, business development director at Rexel said: "It's fantastic to be chosen by such a well-known British brand. We’re looking forward to working with the New Look team to deliver energy savings in their 600 high-street shops.”
