A £38m school in Manchester is being built using Thru-Wall's modular offsite approach. The Manchester Creative and Media Academies will open in time for the 2012 academic year.

Thru-Wall offered advantages on both design and cost that secured this contract against more traditional build solutions for the complete wall facade using structural insulated panels, which have now been fully installed.

Manufactured offsite at a state-of-the-art facility in Merseyside, the structural insulated panels were then delivered to site and were installed within just 10 days. A fabricated aluminium rainscreen solution with six separate colour finishes will be installed early in 2012.

The finished school will have two four-storey buildings that will be able to house 1,500 students, as well as providing accommodation for 120 post-16 education students.
